Notes
Taped from 50 - 60 feet away from behind the stage, center seats, with 2 typical band vocal mics.
The wind covers were left on the mics.
Mics were placed on an empty seat seperated by a few inches & pointing at the stage.
The NAK deck & generic mics were loaned to me to use by Tim "soundawg" Stiegler. Thank you Tim.
I had a mic stand that they took from me at the door but they let me bring in the rest of the gear no problem, I got it back when we left. All borrowed gear was safely returned.
These tapes have been played LESS than 8 times in 32 years & haven't been played since 1982.
There are some volume level lowering adjustments in the two sets opening songs.
(this was done at the show as the tape ran)
There are a few single channel drop outs in the 2nd set where noted with a *
I have no idea what caused it.
Besides piecing this together in places for seamless play & tracking, no SOUND edits of any kind were done.
This is the best I could manage with my limited editing skills, no recorded music is missing, what's here is what's on the tapes.
This was my first time ever recording a live concert.
I only tried once more after this, (4-17-82), & I quickly discovered how much WORK it was.
Twice was enough for me, I was DONE as a taper.
If anyone wants to repair the drop outs and patch in the Encore, & fix other problems discovered, please feel free to tinker.
Enjoy.

Subject: thanks for all your efforts...
I love this show
Subject: Error explained
This is NOT from my masters.
It is another copy I was given by my old friend Laser Beam.
(I grabbed the wrong tapes out of the storage box.)
The taper HERE is unknown & I SURE hope it isn't from a source that has circulated.
I certainly cannot claim that I recorded it because I didn't. This was just my mistake or "human error" if you will.
I grabbed the wrong tapes & just NOW discovered my error.
My masters don't sound HALF this good & that's why I had never traded them.
(Once I had THESE tapes, I knew there was WAY better out there.)
My apologies to the REAL person that taped this but I dunno who that is.
This still may be a new source.
I am VERY SORRY about this mistake.
I would NEVER claim I taped something that I didn't.
01/03/2015: Update:
It has been reported that this IS a NEW audience source: (the text seen is completely wrong due to the tapes error/mix up but it IS a new source)
"Your source does NOT match either of the two current AUDs in the DB (Friend's or Wagner's). What you have is a new source for us.
I believe all three sources were taped on the floor. Right after Jerry sings "drag your body down" some dude yells Waahoo really loud. You can hear him on all three AUD sources, but in each source it's from a different perspective. Otherwise, the crowd chatter is different on all three sources, but I think the tapers were set up near each other, generally in the area of the SBD as would have happened back in those days."
Once again, this isn't from what I taped but is a different pull all together. The taper is unknown at this time.
MY masters sound like crap & are not worth circulating.
I simply got them wrong, mixed up, and I went on to upload what I thought, (at the time), was my recording but had grabbed this aud copy instead. I didn't realize my error until after I had made the text file you see & uploaded it.
hope this explains the mistake I made.
